Welcome to Nanny Judy's

Welcome to Nanny Judy's. A Place to Communicate with the Families in my Care.

I believe quality childcare makes a difference in the lives of children and their families. I hope to be a good support for working parents. Working in partnership with parents ensures that the needs of the family are met and promotes a sound foundation for children.

There are so many benefits to children being cared for at home. Home is warm and secure; the ideal setting for children to learn and grow. I strive to provide a nurturing and encouraging environment, with age appropriate activities and opportunities to explore. Each child will be cared for according to their individual needs. I believe children who are loved and cared for will in turn learn to love and care for others.

About Me

My photo
I am a Licensed Early Childhood Educator and Professional Ballet Teacher. Over the past 20 years I have taught preschool, daycare, managed my own LNR Family Daycare, and worked in private homes as a Nanny. My newest adventure is opening a Licensed In-Home Multi-Age Childcare. I have now opened Judy's Little Gems. Having a Licensed Childcare Facility in my home is so rewarding. Each day is brand new and exciting for both myself and the children! The word Nanny is very special to me. My British grandmother asked her grandchildren to call her Nanny. I hope to build great memories and relationships with children and families in my role as Nanny; just as my grandmother did.

Happy Holidays!!

What an exciting time of year for children!  I love all the possibilities for teaching fun, and valuable lessons.

Our focus this month has been on love and generosity.  We have been painting and decorating, and exploring ways to give to others.  We've been singing seasonal songs, shaking our home-made bells and dancing. :)   The Hand Wreaths turned out really cute and the salt dough ornaments were such a fun craft.  Shhhhh they are a surprise!  I really loved watching the older kids experiment with the straws in the sensory table.......I had not anticipated the many ways you could build with them!  This month I had the privilege of watching as a toddler...brand new walker, mastered not only walking, but also doing this while managing to keep a toy helmet on his head!! Way to go!!

Winter is nearly here and our Childcare Family is growing.

        Our Playroom is so cozy!!

November was a busy month at our place.  Our enrollment doubled, and our toys and equipment have too!  I am loving our new easel.  I now have a wonderful memory of holding a 1 year old as he made long and short brush stokes on his paper. :)  I love watching kids create.  It is great to see children share their experience with a sibling or a friend.  It's neat to write the names of two children on one painting.  I am also really enjoying the new rocking chair.  Rocking my daycare babies in that chair is my new favorite past-time. :)  The sensory table has been a favorite of both myself and the kids. So far we have tried rice, lentils, corn, cotton balls, slime, and shredded paper.  The puzzles and train set are some other definite favorites.

I love sharing books with children and I like to make sure that there are books all over my house!  I like to share a story at Circle Time that suits our focus, and make sure that there are lots of opportunities for children to learn early literacy skills.  During Circle Time we do the Alphabet Jive.....a fun and active way to learn the letters.  So far we have learned up to letter Jj.

We are now moving on to exploring winter activities and crafts.  I loved reading a polar bear story to the babies this week.  They were glued to it!  Pretending to skate around my living room to Christmas music with the bigger kids was super fun!
